Chris Hamaty

Christopher Hamaty has 20 years of experience practicing intellectual property (IP) law in corporate and law-firm settings. Mr. Hamaty has experience building and managing patent portfolios, with a focus on software, security and telecommunications technologies. After working in private practice, Mr. Hamaty served as Director of Intellectual Property at McAfee, Inc. where he developed and implemented McAfee’s strategic patent program and was responsible for all aspects of intellectual property management including enterprise-wide patent and trademark operations. Mr. Hamaty also served as a senior patent attorney in the patent and licensing department of BlackBerry Ltd.

Mr. Hamaty coauthored the articles 'Building a Premier Patent Portfolio Under Corporate Budgetary Constraints,' and 'Competitive Intelligence and Its Role in Increasing the Value of a Patent Portfolio.'

Mr. Hamaty is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Hamaty is admitted to the bars of California, Maryland, Washington, DC, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the United States District Court for the District of Maryland. He is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA).
